Recently, Chongqing Municipal Government have considered and approved the “opinions about the regulation of mine resources exploitation and development of processing industries”(hereinafter referred to as “opinion”). During the  " Eleventh Five - Year ", Chongqing will emphasize on investigating the eight metallogenic belts, focus on developing ten superior mineral resource processing industries and try its best to realize 12 million Yuan sales revenue by 2010.

    The “opinion” points out that the eight metallogenic belts which will be particularly scrutinized by Chongqing in the following 5 years are barium deposit metallogenic belt at northern daba mountains, the northeast of Chongqing;  manganese ore metallogenic belt at Chengkou, the northeast of Chongqing; Dazu-Hechuan strontium deposit metallogenic belt at the west of Chongqing; Nanchuan-Wulongaluminum, sulphur and coal metallogenic belt at the south of Chongqing; Qianjiang-Pengshui aluminum, sulphur and coal metallogenic belt at the southeast of Chongqing; natural gas, salt,  silicon, gypsum and other  nonmetal metallogenic belt along the yangtse river; Chongqing yuzhong-Qijiang geothermal water and Spring Water abundance zone; Youyang-Xiushan manganese, mercury, lead and zinc, fluorite, barite mineralization and so on at the southeast of Chongqing.
